



Mayor Kevin Johnson and "Think Big" announced with considerable fanfare the support of some local and state organized labor for the downtown arena - now called the entertainment and sports complex (ESC). Fair & Open Competition Sacramento (FOCS) embraces the core elements of the "Jobs First Compact." The construction industry is suffering from historic high levels of unemployment and under employment. Hiring the best contractor and sub-contractors with an emphasis on local jobs makes the entertainment and sports complex a "community project" and helps keep revenue in the region.
You may be aware that a secretive group called Californians Against Identity Theft began running radio advertisements during the week of July 28 telling people that their identity might be stolen if they sign petitions for ballot initiatives. You can hear the radio ad at this link.
